ABS

The Texas A&M Association of Baptist Students (ABS) is a collegiate youth auxiliary of Churches and local associations of the Baptist Missionary Association (BMA) of America and BMA of Texas. While ABS is a Baptist student ministry, we welcome students from all backgrounds.

ABS promotes and supports Christian community, church membership, evangelism and spiritual growth among the students of the Texas A&M University and Blinn College through regular worship services, small group Bible studies, retreats, and other activities to allow fellowship and growth among student members. The ABS is most notably recognized as an Aggie's family while away from home.

ABS is recognized Texas A&M University student organization.

W.H. Lavender Student Center

The Association of Baptist Students meets at the W.H. Lavender Student Center at 410 College Main, College Station, TX. The building is conveniently located in the Northgate district just two blocks from the Texas A&M campus.

The student center is available to students almost anytime. Students have access to free parking, kitchen facilities, wifi, computers, printers, study rooms and space to relax with numerous couches and TV. Aggies often visit ABS between classes to study, eat, relax, and fellowship with other students.

RELOAD! Dinner, Worship and Bible Study

We meet weekly on Thursday nights at 7:30 pm. We begin with a delicious, free meal. Then have a time of worship and Bible study. One Bible study per month is student-led and divided between guys and girls for small group ministry. Fifth Thursday nights are for fun and games or outings.

Thursday night meetings also provide time for organizational announcements and planning.

If you're excited about worshiping the Savior and want to grow as you learn about Him, come check us out. Come early and stay late for great fellowship.

Small Group Bible Study

ABS students lead small group Bible studies with flexible schedules throughout the week often at ABS, restaurants, on-campus, or at their homes. Small group studies allow for deeper Bible studies, fellowship, personal relationships, and discipleship. Some small groups meet in conjunction with the student-leaders church small group and include older adults or families.

If you're interested in attending or leading a small group student ministry, please contact us.

Beliefs

We believe the Bible is God's inspired Word and follow Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior!

Join us if you'd like to know more about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

While we are supported by baptist churches, we welcome any students who want to learn more about Jesus.

Student Leadership

ABS is led by an elected group of Aggie student officers.
We welcome the ideas and leadership of new students. If they desire, students can find ministry opportunities almost immediately. Students serve in many areas including elected leadership positions, committees, music, media, Bible study, men's/women's ministry, and small group leaders.

Service

The primary ministry of ABS is to serve students. We believe students can reach other Aggies for Christ and benefit greatly from learning to serve each other as they grow.

ABS has at least one service oriented retreat per year. Students are able to plan and participate in that retreat. We also participate in various local service projects like Big Event and assist with activities of local and supporting churches like AWANA, VBS, DNOW, etc. ABS has been on mission trips to Africa, Mexico, and across Texas. We provide assistance with missionary placement and gathering support for individual missionary trips. Our students have served or are currently serving in domestic missions and internationally in Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Bahamas, Lebanon, Turkey and others areas.

Executive Leadership

The elected students serve under the guidance of  the Executive Director, Associate Director, Trustees and University Advisors.
The Executive Director serves as the main bible teacher and first point of contact for any questions regarding our facility or activities.
